Our Materials

Viewed from the outside, one might think that the biggest challenge for a craft business lies in the sales strategy, production or even logistics management. Think again because finding a trusted collaborator is just as crucial and remains a monumental task which will determine the success or failure of a project.

It is by following a paved path of unsuccessful investment and disappointments with bitter tastes that we are today proud and honored to work, and this for more than five years, with suppliers* of raw materials accredited throughout the world, but above all with trusted human beings whose value harmonizes with our vision of things.

We will discuss in this section the different materials that we use for the creation of jewelry as well as the maintenance tips that attach to them in order to allow you to optimize the lifespan of your protected people.

Our metals

Metals are the very basis of jewelry and will define the vision and image of the brand. At Petite Vagabonde we have opted for two base metals, s925 silver (solid silver) as well as gold filled (gold filled), a choice that allows us to offer you items that are both quality and affordable.
Solid silver/s925:

S925 silver, also known as solid silver (or sterling silver) is the best-known metal popular with the general public for its versatility and durability.

A timeless material that will always be favored by quality goldsmiths, we naturally include it in our collections through two different versions: classic silver and gilded silver. 18k gold.

Gold filled/Or filled:

14k gold filled, generally called in its English form 14k gold filled, is currently the best alternative that exists with solid gold without the budgetary constraints associated with the latter.

Indeed, much thicker than traditional gold plating, it is a technique (combining pressure and heat) that is extremely durable and allows for use of jewelry under the same conditions as solid gold jewelry as long as the maintenance advice is respected by the user.

PS: Please consult the “maintenance” section for more information information on optimal care of our silver and gold-filled jewelry.

Our Stones

We are proud to work closely with partners who are not only accredited, but also recognized for their seriousness, reliability and transparency. This synergy allows us to constantly evolve and offer you ever more unique and varied creations.

Our natural stones come directly from renowned lapidaries and family businesses anchored in emblematic jewelry cities of India, such as Jaipur and Bengaluru. These cities, recognized for their centuries-old expertise in gemology, ensure the quality and authenticity of each stone.

As for our pearls, they are imported directly from the province of Zhejiang in China , the true epicenter of pearl farming. This region, home to the most productive pearl farms, is responsible for approximately 90% of the world's freshwater pearl production, attesting to their superiority and incomparable brilliance.
