Our Materials
From the outside, one might think that the biggest challenge for a small business lies in sales strategy, production, or logistics management. Think again, because finding a trustworthy partner is just as crucial and remains a monumental task that will determine the success or failure of a project.
It is by walking along a path paved with unsuccessful investments and bitter disappointments that we are today proud and honored to have been working for more than five years with accredited suppliers* of raw materials worldwide, but above all trustworthy human beings whose values harmonize with our vision of things.
In this section we will discuss the different materials we use to create our jewelry, as well as care tips to help you maximize the lifespan of your pieces.
*Naturally, for reasons of confidentiality but also of competition, we cannot provide the legal identity of our collaborators.
Our metals
Metals are the very foundation of jewelry and define the brand's vision and image. At Petite Vagabonde, we've chosen two base metals: sterling silver (silver) and gold-filled, a choice that allows us to offer you items that are both high-quality and affordable.
Sterling silver/s925:
s925 silver, also known as sterling silver, is the metal most well-known to the general public for its versatility and durability.
A timeless material that will always be favored by quality silversmiths, we naturally include it in our collections through two different versions: classic silver and 18k gold plated silver.
Gold filled:
14k gold filled, generally referred to in its English form as 14k gold filled, is currently the best alternative that exists to solid gold without the budgetary constraints associated with the latter.
Indeed, much thicker than traditional gold plating, it is an extremely durable technique (combining pressure and heat) and allows the jewelry to be used under the same conditions as solid gold jewelry, provided that the care instructions are followed by the user.
